Our advanced online backup solution for businesses allows you to backup any files and folders on your computer or network server, including external drives and network folders.

In addition to standard folder and file backup our advanced online backup solution can backup the following types of data:

• Microsoft Exchange Server
• Microsoft SQL Server databases
• Microsoft Hyper-V Server
• VMWare ESX / ESXi / Server 2
• Oracle databases
• Lotus Domino/Notes
• MySQL databases

The backup software allows you to choose which files and folders you wish to include in your backup. It allows you to continously monitor for changes to files or folders or schedule a regular backup. The software can be set to remind you to backup your files when you shut down your computer (if there are files that require backup) - if you choose to allow the backup to run the software will automatically shut your computer down when it has finished.

Our advanced online backup solution allows multiple backup sets to be configured. This means that, unlike our standard online backup solution, you can set different backup options for differenet files or folders. For example, you might choose to have your main documents folder backed up as soon as a file is changed whereas you might choose to only backup changes in your emails at the end of the day. You can also configure different retention periods for each backup set. A retention period is the number of days/weeks/months or years that a deleted or modified file will be stored in the online backup. This allows you to "roll-back" a file to an earlier version even if the latest version has already been backed up. Longer file retention periods require more online backup space, so it is useful to be able to choose shorter retention periods for files that you do not need to roll-back.

Your backup data is stored at a secure data centre in Europe. All of your data is encrypted before being sent over the internet. This means that your data cannot be compromised once it leaves your network.

A copy of your backup can additionally be stored locally on an external hard drive or similar. The advantage of this option is that if you should need to restore any files, they can be restored from your local backup copy rather than via a slower internet connection.

Prices

There is a one-off £140 setup charge, assuming that your data is stored centrally (eg. on a file server). This includes on-site installation of the backup software.

The storage space used by your backup is charged on a monthly basis. The table below shows the rates. The backup software allows you to monitor how much space you are using. If you are unsure how much space you will need please ask us for help in determining this.
