What is content management?

What does 'content management system' mean? Simply put, it is a system that sits behind your website and allows you to control the pages, words and images that make up the 'content' of it. A 'content managed' website is one that you are in control of without the need of any technical knowledge or web design skills.

Websites that have a content management system (CMS) often represent a value-for-money solution. Once the site has been designed and the CMS has set up, the site can be updated and added to without any further costs.

Here at ibComputing we have developed a content management system called "Self-Build" that is fully flexible and very easy to use. It can grow alongside your business and your website - functions can be added as your business needs them, keeping it easy to use and understand. The latest version of "Self-Build" is the result of several years of constant development and improvement, making it a very powerful and mature product.

The system allows for easy modification to or expansion of the website's structure. There is no limit to the number of pages that can be added to a "Self-Build" website. The "Self-Build" system can be accessed from any location where there is access to the internet. No special software is required. Training is offered but not always required as the system is very easy to use.
